Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After a morning briefing at your hotel in Arusha, which will serve as the starting point for the safari, you will depart for Tarangire National Park. Known for its stunning savannah scenery, ancient baobab trees, seasonal wetlands, and water sources, the park is particularly famous for its large elephant populations.

During the game drive, you will follow the wildlife around the Tarangire River, where many animals gather to drink and feed. You may encounter a variety of species, including giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, gerenuks, and fringe-eared oryx. The park also supports large numbers of buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, which attract predators such as lions. Leopards may occasionally be spotted, while cheetah sightings are less common.

With the open-roof safari vehicle providing excellent visibility, you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscapes and wildlife. Later in the afternoon, you will leave the park and continue to your lodge for an evening of relaxation.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, traveling through the scenic landscapes of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy views of the highlands and vast open plains along the way.

Upon reaching Serengeti, begin exploring one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Its endless grasslands provide habitat for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and many other animals.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive, with opportunities to observe predators and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Depending on the season, your guide may focus on areas associated with the Great Wildebeest Migration.

In the evening, head to your lodge or tented camp in or near Serengeti National Park for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. The cooler morning hours offer excellent opportunities to observe wildlife as animals become active.

Explore the plains in search of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, zebras, and wildebeests. Your guide will help you locate wildlife and explain the Serengeti ecosystem and the seasonal movements of migratory herds.

After your game drive and lunch, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the changing scenery as you leave the Serengeti plains and approach the dramatic volcanic highlands.

Arrive at your lodge or camp near Ngorongoro Crater, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the following day’s crater safari.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Big Five & Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting game drive across its diverse habitats. This remarkable volcanic caldera is known for its high concentration of wildlife and spectacular scenery.

Search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and hyenas. Ngorongoro also offers one of Tanzania’s best opportunities to look for the endangered black rhinoceros, although sightings are not guaranteed.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site before continuing your wildlife exploration. In the afternoon, ascend the crater walls and begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving later in the day depending on road and safari conditions.
